Interview Don’ts
Don’t show up late or too early. Arriving late gives the impression of being disorganized and not prepared. It also conveys a lack of respect for the interviewer’s time. Being too early can show a lack of planning and may appear to impose on the interviewer.
Don’t smoke, drink, eat or chew gum during the interview.
Don’t talk negatively about current or past employers or managers. The interviewer will rightly assume that you would do the same about their company.
Don’t ask about benefits, salary, vacations or other perks on the first interview. Discuss those items when further along in the process.
Don’t assume that the interviewer learns more from your resume than during the interview. Your resume simply opened the door for the interview.
